TOWN HALL CONCERTS
SONNEBERG
"Wagner for everybody"
"A true highlight of the Sonneberg Town Hall Concert series is coming up on Saturday, October 12. Under the title "WAGNER for everybody," Katrin and Michael Lion will present their new stage program, which not only Wagnerians will enjoy!
Opera singer Michael Lion will perform monologues from various Wagner operas.
Actress and singer Katrin Lion guides the audience through the stage program with detailed and humorous narrations of the individual operas. She charmingly and entertainingly provides access to Wagner's operas, even for listeners who have previously had no familiarity with opera, let alone Wagner.
Not only die-hard Wagner fans should mark this concert evening in their calendars. Thanks to the individual introduction by narrator Katrin Lion, it's absolutely easy to immerse yourself in the sustaining sounds of various Richard Wagner operas right from the start. You'll hear famous monologues from "The Flying Dutchman," "Parsifal," "Tristan and Isolde," "The Ring of the Nibelung" ("Walküre" and "Götterdämmerung"), and "Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg."
Wagner operas in particular are a particular passion of Michael Lion, who, after guest appearances at various major stages, such as the Singapore Lyric Opera and the National Concert Hall Taipei, has been a pillar of the ensemble at the Landestheater Coburg with his bass for over ten years now.
Katrin Lion performs in film and television productions in Munich. The jazz singer has toured Germany and Austria with Austrian cult singer-songwriter Wolfgang Ambros ("Der Watzmann ruft"). For many years, she was engaged at the Luisenburg Festival and the Hof Theater. She hosts classical concerts, including those in the Herkulessaal of the Munich Residence.
